What does a system look like for an online business?  When this site was drafted, three foundational websites were used - SBI! 5 pillar affiliate site, Web Marketing Today, and interestingly CafePress affiliate link.  As an affiliate for these sites, you can access technical information as well as promotional and marketing how-to's to get your site up and running! 

 

At your business start-up, you'll still have skills that you need to learn.  The best people to learn from are those who have done what you haven't.  The forums and groups in the above sites were packed with information!  Relevant questions were asked and many experienced businesses owners were willing to share their advice or experience.

    There's so much information out there that it may seem like information overload, especially if you're new to online marketing.  Many businesses write articles, e-zines, and blogs, not to mention the content in forums, groups, and chat rooms - then there's the free e-books.  Read them.  You're bound to find something that will trigger an idea in your mind as to the direction your business should take.
     

     

     

     

     

     

    How are your computer skills?  Spend some time learning about writing HMTL, SEO optimization, reciprocal link exchanges, how web rings work, and RSS feeds.  There's still more things to learn beyond that!  You can always pay for these services, but if you're on a budget, you're almost forced to learn it!
